CPR and First Aid Training
We are pleased to announce the release of the new Safe Baby CPR Presentation. The purpose of the Safe Baby Presentation is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to help sustain an infant’s life and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until advanced medical help arrives. The content and activities will help participants gain information on the prevention of injury and illness, with a focus on infant safety. The presentation is a one-hour introduction to the basic principles of first aid and infant CPR and gives the participants an opportunity to practice basic skills. The Safe Baby Presentation is designed to be flexible to meet the various needs of the participants taking the training.
At the conclusion of the Safe Baby Presentation, participants should be able to:
- Recognize an emergency.
- List ways to prevent childhood injuries.
- List the three (3) basic steps to follow in an emergency.
- Call EMS and provide appropriate information.
- List signals of breathing emergency for an infant.
- Demonstrate how to care for an infant who is choking.
- Demonstrate how to care for an infant whose heart has stopped.
